The Asthma Drug Facility (ADF) is qualifying anti-asthma drugs for use in developing countries with a high incidence of asthma. This qualification aims at ensuring the quality of those drugs and the reliability of the manufacturers.

For the purchase of asthma drugs, the ADF will issue a tender. This Limited International Competitive Bid (LICB) will be for qualified manufacturers only and for their qualified products only, according to UN procurement rules.

Interested manufacturers, or their legal representative, are invited to submit their expression of interest to the ADF, indicating which of the following asthma drugs they are interested in supplying:

HFA inhaled bronchodilators (Inhaler must be blue)
1. Inhaled Salbutamol 100 microgram
2. Inhaled Terbutaline 250 microgram

HFA inhaled corticosteroids (Inhaler must be red)
3. Inhaled Beclomethasone 250 microgram
4. Inhaled Beclomethasone 100 microgram (for paediatric use)
5. Inhaled Budesonide 200 microgram
6. Inhaled Fluticasone 125 microgram

Notes:
1) The specified colour codification is a requirement:
Bronchodilators must have a blue plastic body.
Corticosteroid inhalers must have a red plastic body.
2) Only HFA-propelled inhalers will be considered.

To express their interest, manufacturers are requested to download the "manufacturer questionnaire" and the "product questionnaire" from the ADF website. Once duly completed, the questionnaires must be sent to the ADF, accompanied by the required documents, certificates and samples. Note that a product questionnaire and a sample must be submitted for each product that a manufacturer is interested in supplying.

Any applicant failing to send all the required documents, certificates and samples will be rejected.

Manufacturing sites will be audited by an agent selected by the ADF. The costs of conducting the audit will be borne by ADF.

Manufacturers in all countries of the world are eligible to respond to this General Procurement Notice.
